Have you used Git Search in Eclipse?

You can under Eclipse, use the Git / SVN History View for Git Project just like for SVN:
Right click under your Project's Server Pack / Database Pack inside Eclipse's Package Explorer -> Team -> Show in History.

you can use the search option there aswell under the History Options Panel.
Or for a different Rev like Freya / Gracia etc you can switch Branches and find them there if they have it available, more options i dont have the knowledge, maybe Zoey76 can help you out with more Info then this.

Our trac is vulnerable, and we won't fix. The Git search in Eclipse is good enough I think.

I requsted GitHub for Commit search per Repository and they told me it's a upcoming feature, but you know this things take time.
