Re: Some Tips for Newbies and not only. [UPDATED]

Post by Stake »

I played L2 for about 2 years when I started to discover L2j. :D I knew c, c++, php, javascript, a little assembly before, and a little pure java. Then I somehow took to this, and I like how Java VM devs optimized a lot of things that were slow running, and I like cross-platform mostly with Linux. :D I think, about half a year is enough to learn L2, because there are so many unnecessary official updates, that changes the game dramatically, that even veteran L2 players count as newbies at times. I recommend for new players to try everything in the game, like I did at my first days, when I bought heavy armor for my elven wizard. :D

It's like a persistent loop.

Code: Select all

public int knowledge = 0;while(true){    if(one.isTrying())    {        one.experiencing(true);        knowledge++;    }    else        one.experiencing(false);}

A few new stuff.

If you have a high rate pvp server where quests and drops are not needed, disable them all and keep only what you really need. It gives a great perfomance boost to your server. Do the same about geodata, enable geodata only on the places you really need it. (castles, fortresses, popular areas)

I was running 600 people on a 2 cpu, 2gb ram machine. Of course it was linux and i had auto restart everyday but it really boosts things up.

Hi I'm new to the forum and posting interested me ...
I Learned java and just trial and error, really only the basics / need But I can dress up a bit ...
Achieved learning firsthand the Something very, very important on a server with people playing online is no change in selling prices of the items ... or take a long time the server is offline due to updates or changes file and Stock on the server, if possible Before the tests or Change In Another pc Outside Where the server, Then put it offline only a second for the exchange and put it back on Quickly , Something that's personal experience I've Shown That It is very important because i lost due to Change Many people in prices in the shops XDD
Sorry for my bad Inglés, I'm using the "super google translator" xDDD
Soory for my Bad Inglish! xD ... Im use Google Traslator. :P

oh god... srsly, try writing yourself (or at least add the original text below), that was terrible. Google FTL.
If you have problems, FIRST TRY SOLVING THEM YOURSELF, and if you get errors, TRY TO ANALYZE THEM, and ONLY if you can't help it, THEN ask here.
Otherwise you will never learn anything if all you do is copy-paste!
Discussion breeds innovation.

jajaj is dificult for me , I know little English xDDD .. but yes , google traslator is very bad xD jajja maybe I'll have to write my more formal Spanish in translator for translates to better (? hahaha

Returning to the subject.
Another fact to consider when creating a server ... Is keep people busy, with events or competitions or things like that, so that players do not get bored.
Soory for my Bad Inglish! xD ... Im use Google Traslator. :P
