Our server is hosted on linux machine with iptables, a heavy duty firewall, also our administrator works in the ISP that we are using, the ISP has cisco router.Aikimaniac wrote:you wanna have it at home ? So, we've got around 100 times DDoSed... but i wont forget one DDoS: The firewall didnt help, the ISP's main sysadmin couldnt do much, we've called telekoms... after 5-6 hours of struggling, we've managed to block it, but after 2-3 days, there was it again, so what? they will DDoS us every 2-3 days and we have to struggle so much every time? lol... our only choice was to hire some russian anti-ddos proxy which can keep up to 50Gbit/s that costs 1300euro/month...

if ISP have cisco router to buy special software for it.
new technology of cisco can protect u from anything.

its rly sad to hear ISP is ddosed and cant stop the attack.

every serious ISP has Cisco routers...but im not speaking about router but Cisco Guard box http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/ps5894/index.html what isnt router in meaning for what word "router" is used for.. btw...such ddos costs money too...botnets are for rent but its expensive..nik wrote:So, we've got around 100 times DDoSed... but i wont forget one DDoS: The firewall didnt help, the ISP's main sysadmin couldnt do much, we've called telekoms... after 5-6 hours of struggling, we've managed to block it, but after 2-3 days, there was it again, so what? they will DDoS us every 2-3 days and we have to struggle so much every time? lol... our only choice was to hire some russian anti-ddos proxy which can keep up to 50Gbit/s that costs 1300euro/month...

Re: AntiDDoS Defence
Usually your dedicated server's company can set up an anti-dos firewall or something like that. However you have to pay for it just one time. I don't think someone would rent so many botnets for a server that you won't be able to handle it.

Re: AntiDDoS Defence
Is this ddos "from here down" there are many ips that repeat, I have a d-link router this log is from there form the firewall. The thing is I block this ips but had 0 effect and they still show in the router log.
and the net connection falls for some time.

Re: AntiDDoS Defence
Cisco my ass. Apart from the fact that tons of open-source firewalls exist that can run on x86 machines barelly any ISP has traffic filtering service. Why ? Cause it costs, both to buy the components ( be it cisco hardware ) and to maintain them.
Dont expect to find any protection with your 200 dollars/month budget. Cisco guards arent condoms. They cost a lot for the isp, and as a consequence for you too.
