i get this message when i try to join:
You need to be identified to join that channel
i can join #l2j-datapack on the other hand but only a few in there

freenode uses registered names and #l2j channel requires a registered username to join.
Try this when you are connected to freenode:
/nickserv help
/nickserv register help
Once registered you can be identified ( similar to log in) using:
/nickserv identify password

We already have a channel on freenode...why should we move?
