In the system folder, isn't a l2.exe anymore.

I can download a patched one, but is this legal? (like l2inc)

it would be you who would do illegal things playing with a modified client..

It's probably your anti-virus program that has deleted the file. L2.exe is often mistaken for a virus.
My guess is that you have AVG anti-virus. It has deleted this file for some of my users the last week or so. Latest update for the program decided the file suddenly was a virus. lol!
Before you can restore the file, you better turn off the residental shield, or go inside the settings of the residental shield and configure an exclusion of the systemfolder of the game, or it will delete it again!

you dont need a patch, you can just rename you bin to exe but i guess that will be client modding too (not sure)
