architecture of lineage 2

Hi.

i have discovered a few moments ago that l2j server could run also with geodata. Iam now confused. How is lineage 2 functional without geodata? What is geodata (what does it contain)? Iam totaly confused about how server/client works with world map etc.

PS: I want to make some map of server world. Which data do i need to render server map out of game? Or, is it possible/legal to have some kind of bot run around the map and screenshot what it sees?

Hmmm. Ok. So I cannot render somethink like googlemaps tiles from geodata. I need database for l2j (position of monsters, position of villages), geodata, and some data from l2 client for informations about textures on ground and informations about vegetation, etc.

What is the simpliest way to render something good? (I HATE l2 map in game. It is unusable shit with no zoom ability...)
