HI I need some help with building my server.
I used this guide:
http://trac.l2jserver.com/wiki/L2J_Install
All goes well till point 10. Registering Gameservers, infact when i try to open it closes immediately.
Another doubt I have is wich IP use for localhost, in the guide it says 127.0.0.1 but I have a router/modem + switch(Wlan) and my current IP is 93.149.224.243, so i tried both the IPs but still the problem remains.
really dunno where I did it wrong, read the guide several times and everytime it went wrong at 10th point...
If anyone can join the IRC channel he'll be my saviour!
Thanks

You say to join irc but you don't give the irc info so how are people to join. Maybe I use my mind powers to fund out that info

that was way too easy to imagine...
you can manually register the GS, you just need to enter the right values in database, gameservers table.
someone just has to share that file for example content, i don't have the server compiled atm.

I tought it was so obvious... btw I found my error, I run GSRegister.exe and it said me the "servername.xml" was missing in the folder, infact it was in the datapack zip, not in the gameserver zip.
So I understood i must extract both the zip in the SAME folder...
I completed all the remaining points and was hoping all will work fine, I opened the loginserver and it's OK, then opened the gameserver and after loading some stuff it gave me this error:
Connecting to login on 127.0.0.1:9014
Damn! Registration failed: Reason wrong hexid
any idea?
PS I'll be in IRC in the #l2j and #l2j datapack channel for the next half hour

#The HexId to Auth into LoginServer
#Mon Sep 27 19:56:10 CEST 2010
HexID=760d4ed94706058cc20a0d0956d862fe
ServerID=1

maybe it's a problem of IPs?
I have a router/modem wich isn't wireless so I instead of buying a new one adde a Wireless switch (wich was way cheaper) so the configuration is
Internet ---> Router ----> Switch -----> Via ethernet main PC (desktop)
------> via Wifi some notebooks and a tablet pc
I checked my IP with whatismyip.org and it is 93.149.224.243
I then checked my IP with Ipconfig and it shows 192.168.0.100
and the router Ip's is 192.168.1.254
now in loginserver and server properties I put 93.149.224.243 as external IP and 127.0.0.1 (default) as internal IP, did it wrong?

another question I have is... once I start the server how should I stop the client Update?

heh, and I posted a fix for that servername.xml thing a couple months ago, nobody even noticed it...
You can try to either quickly click the START button in the launcher (it's active for the first half second when it opens) or run l2.bin directly (rename it to l2.exe and try opening it), but if you have a clean install of the game then you probably will have protocol mismatch problems.
If you won't be connecting from your internal network then 127.0.0.1 is fine. If login and gs are on the same box, then in gameservers table you can put the same 127.0.0.1 or localhost

well... gameserver is OK
The only thing I did is to copy/paste hexid.txt in the directory gameserver/config.
I also renamed L2.bin in the directory NCZ0ft/LineageII/system into L2.exe, according to what I've read this should stop the client update but:
1) If I click on L2.exe appears a error message
2) if I click on LineageII.exe (the retail one) it'll proceed with the update normally (of course I close before it ends)
I'm just astep from the solution, plz help

The event log in control panel says this:
Generazione del contesto di attivazione non riuscita per "C:\Program Files\NCZ0ft\Lineage II\system\L2.exe". Impossibile trovare l'assembly dipendente Microsoft.VC80.OpenMP,processorArchitecture="x86",publicKeyToken="1fc8b3b9a1e18e3b",type="win32",version="8.0.50727.762". Utilizzare sxstrace.exe per ottenere una diagnosi dettagliata.
ID event 33
Origin SidebySide
it says it's impossible to find a depending assembly, it also suggest to use sxstrace.exe for more detailed informations...
Tried with a registry cleaner but still unsolved...
