* Even when it looks like a quest to you, this isn't even Datapack related, ergo its off-topic.

* Use a download manager. Free download manager, DAP, FlashGet, whatever.

* Visit official L2 site, there is a link for client download from Fileplanet. Finally this server claims to have it for download too.

L2_C2_Installer.zip
??

Should be: L2_C4_Installer.zip
but NCSofts FTP Server is full almost all the time.

Using a download manager for an archive of 2.4 GB could ruin the file (had to download the installer 5 times...).

Ask your friend for a copy of his client - that would probably be the fastest way to get it
sadly the full client doesn't fit on one DVD... (but the installer and the C3 client do - you will have to patch anyway)

* How many DVD-sized stuff have you downloaded with a download manager? (or should i ask how many times a download was succesful just with IE)
* Have you used at least MD5 to confirm a download as corrupted?
* Which archiver have you used? Old Winrar versions reject fileplanet's installer as _corrupted_. Update/change your archiving software and you'll be fine. (I'd recommend IZArc).
* Uncompressed client DOES fit on a dual layer DVD. Compressed client or uncompressed installer fits in an ordinary DVD-R.

* i don't use IE its not even worth the HDD space *g*
downloadmanagers like flashget or getright corrupted about 85% of all archives with 1GB+ filesize I tried (only about 200 tries total - could be bad luck or a week internet connection...don't know)
I download (or upload) 2-5 files of similar size (2GB) every week so I had to find the best way for me to do it
*I do CRC and/or MD5 checks for almost every file bigger than 1 CD
*tried winrar (two weeks old), winace (not sure how old) and ALZip (about 1 month old) - after I got the installer without dlmanager I used winrar and it worked fine
*yes, I did forget dual layer :) - maybe because my drive does not support it :(

Oh, and I didn't try the fileplanet download because I was lucky to get it from NCSofts FTP just before they actualy changed to C4. ;)
But I tried to get it for a friend two weeks ago - sent him a DVD by mail in the end. :(

The problem with downloadmanagers could be my computer but I hear similar complaints in chats or from my friends.
I will try DAP next time. Never used it before.
