So what was the difference between l2j and l2jfree?

I used to be told a lot that l2jfree was better back in the day, thats why im asking.

L2jfree is dead so basically is out of date.

Before L2J know only to spam "is not retail" so devs what want to got custom stuff in they svn made they own. No matter l2jfree or something else all is same. But always good stuff get shared (steal) between open projects.
