Server Renting ?

Post by Menuval »

Hii there,

Was looking for the right forum to ask but couldn't find any so I posted it here.

I am looking for a server to rent for hosting an l2j server.
I'm estimating 150-250 players at peak hours.

What server specs i should look into ?
any reccomended companys ?
what's the best OS ?

I would be grateful for any kind of help

Thanks,
Menuval

Thanks for your answer mate,

Any idea why do I need to run this OS though ?

I've seen many sites offering admin panels and other stuff ? what is the "MUST HAVE" things ?
btw, what is the difference between dedicated and vps ?

Thanks

VPS = more operating system on a computer
Dedicated hosting = your own computer full access

Hmm for a lineage server u need : webserver ( ligttpd + php ) , mysql, java and the server )
And a external firewall ( or intern one )
Centos is free but u need to know linux - redhat if u want to make something on it else use windows .

P.S. Correct me if i`m wrong.

I don't think you need this ;)
Just properly set your iptables or IPSEC and everything should be fine on a server with 150-250 players ;)

Hii guys,

Yet I still can't find the best setup formyself, RAM/OS/HD-Space/CPU

Would greatly appriciate if someone can post a guide about choosing the best server for yourself since I know there aren't any of them .

Thanks,
