Lets say i wanna start a new low rate server with retail like features, i wish to know what is missing from the epilgue branch so i can start working on it.
Will my players be able to get s80 and s84 grade weapons and armors like on retail?

On a low rate server, it could take MONTHS even a YEAR to get into lv80+
That is quite enought time to develop a few missing features.

If you have problems, FIRST TRY SOLVING THEM YOURSELF, and if you get errors, TRY TO ANALYZE THEM, and ONLY if you can't help it, THEN ask here.

Due lack of detailed information, we hope that we can fetch some of that info from the PTS now that we have the chance.JMD wrote:I wonder the same thing, looks like it is holded back for some reason...........jurchiks wrote:... hellbound hasn't been implemented for how many years?ThePhoenixBird wrote:On a low rate server, it could take MONTHS even a YEAR to get into lv80+

Re: Starting a new server...
and again, WHY isn't there any list of needed information????
you don't expect us to learn telepathy to know what's missing/wrong in your possibly non-existent hellbound implementation?
there's not a single "missing features" list that has detailed info about what's needed/missing/needs to be changed/checked/updated.
and I repeat again - that's not how community works. You want people to help you - you also need to give them info. Otherwise we're all waiting till Freya l2jserver comes out, then we see what's missing and only then we know what we need to do, but unfortunately it's kinda too late for most of us.
P.S. why can't no dev EVER commit only the part of his code that is retail-like? Like "htmls for the upcoming seed of annihilation" or "tp script (disabled by default while seed not implemented) and zone for the upcoming seed of annihilation", or "hellbound leveling system" <- AFAIK THIS is long made and it should be independent of all other AIs and quests/scripts... the internet is full of required/given trust points by all mobs, even PTS notes contain some of that.

Re: Starting a new server...
That is great jurchiks!
Why then dont you try to do something about it? mmmm start a list of missing features on the wiki, start to do some research collect a lot of papers and publish it correctly ordered, maybe some developers (not only L2j ones) would be interested and then they would code those missing features.
Dont just complain! Contribute!!!

Re: Starting a new server...
why would I need to do it, i'm not the head developer of l2j project (not even a team member and not really interested with this attitude), i'm doing this for fun and at my free time (or should I say I WAS doing, lately I really don't think there's any point in this, l2jserver will ABSOLUTELY NEVER be close to complete if there's no organisation of things, it's always just someone contributing something random or small fixes, nobody really does anything of real importance (maybe except _DS_), and i don't mean those petty bugfixes that appear because someone can't read over his code twice)!
I'm not complaining, I'm stating the facts, you don't give any info but ask that we all contribute!
And if I do contribute then either it doesn't even get noticed (like my last 2 contribs), or it doesn't get committed (for what ever reason), or there's smth like "oh well, we didn't really say we needed that one, but ok, why not..."
while (no todo lists)
no contribs, sit&wait for teH miracle;
End of discussion

Re: Starting a new server...
It would be nice to make a list of things to do.
Perhaps taking a look at the lists of updates. First we see the things added in Prelude, and then added and modified in another chronicles, to make a list of what is already done and what is missing. It's a great idea to organize the project.
I believe that in the trac saw a list of things to do, ancient, but can not find it.

You think l2j devs are doing this for money? you think they're not doing this out of their free time\will ?jurchiks wrote:why would I need to do it, i'm not the head developer of l2j project (not even a team member and not really interested with this attitude), i'm doing this for fun and at my free time (or should I say I WAS doing, lately I really don't think there's any point in this, l2jserver will ABSOLUTELY NEVER be close to complete if there's no organisation of things, it's always just someone contributing something random or small fixes, nobody really does anything of real importance (maybe except _DS_), and i don't mean those petty bugfixes that appear because someone can't read over his code twice)!

You don't have to be a staff member to contribute, period. And your attitude makes actual devs not want to contribute. An open community such as this can not depend solely on the staff - especially when most of it is inactive. Without contributions from the community you're right - this project won't go that much further with features, but instead of complaining (and yes, you are complaining) maybe you should do something about it?
You already have a pretty good idea on what's missing, and claim to have the knowledge to get a few things done, so why not do so?
