Maybe you can forgot about vista or win "7", try to use Linux OS x64 like : Debian lenny x64.

I think you want to know why ?
For the simple reason Linux better than Win on performance specially with L2J.

don't use desktop OS to host production L2J. i repeat, DON'T USE DESKTOPS OSes FOR PRODUCTION L2J SERVER.

if you want a Windows, use Windows 2003 server 64bit, for example. runs like a charm

Hi

I use 64 bit os, very long time -( xp 64bits and Win7 64 bits ), and this is ver much faster ( almost 150% more ) , in same cases tasks was take 1 hour in 32 bits, in 64 bits take 20 o 30 min. the diference is very appreciable.

a 32 bit Os in a 64 bits machine ( Amd or Intel64 ) this can not use a full capacity of processor (only 50%) and this is the difference whith a 64bit processor..
To explain better take this example.. you have a truk was transpot 1 ton ( 1000kg) in 1 hour you can transport 10 times for example.. result you move only 10 tons, in these time...
now .. you have a truk was transport 2 tons.. in this case.. in 1 hour you transport 20 times = 20 tons... in 2 hs = 40 tons... and...you can continue...

in resume... the diference of capacity is a X² .. or in other words... capacity of procesing in a 64bits = cap. 32bits elevate to 2 in a same fraction of time..

All this in teroy assuming you use a full 64 bits programs... but in the real world is 2 o 3 times faster was 32 bits..

I use 64 bits with lineage and l2j server without problems... faster.... WARP VELOCITY .... is very impresionant, run l2 in 64 bits dont Freeze in start game caracter !!!! whithout death time...

Sorry by my english... but amost can be readed... :D

math not linear )) and not exponential ))

simple example for a kids, you know))

64 bit - it a BUS of data more wide - more data more ticks while one second. how you(or your application) will use this power - decide to you or your application :)

Well its easy x64 have a nice compatibility with native 32-bit, and not recompiled programs can be used without significant loss of capacity. Its the long mode if i remember x84 is the legacy mode...

And the most of DEV's in the world and even here, recommend to use it as your system for L2J servers or any other data system.

If the system is x64 all should be x64 8)

You can't run/install programs other than cloud programs on Crhome OS.

ON:
I've been using w 2008 x64, and it really works great, is faster than 2003 x64 and more stable. If your hosting provider has it, then don't doubt about it (off course if you don't want to give linux a try).
